CVSA INTERNATIONAL ROADCHECK 2026: CARGO SECUREMENT

What is the CVSA International Roadcheck?

The CVSA International Roadcheck is the world's largest targeted enforcement program on motor vehicles, with an average of nearly 15 trucks and motorcoaches inspected every minute across North America.

It is an annual three-day event where CVSA-certified inspectors conduct compliance, enforcement and educational initiatives targeted at various elements of motor carrier, vehicle and driver safety.

When is this year’s vehicle focus?

Taking place May 12-14, the CVSA International Roadcheck 2026's vehicle focus is cargo securement. Improper or inadequate cargo securement poses a serious risk to the driver and other motorists by adversely affecting the vehicle’s maneuverability and/or causing unsecured loads to fall or become dislodged, resulting in roadway hazards and/or crashes.

What do inspectors look for at the CVSA International Roadcheck?

During the inspection of a commercial motor vehicle, the inspector will examine:

· Brake systems
· Cargo securement
· Coupling devices
· Driveline/driveshaft components
· Driver's seat
· Fuel and exhaust systems
· Frames
· Lighting devices
